Nefarious New England

The eerie and unnerving is closer than you think and the New England States are full of weird. From Betty and Barney Hills 1961 reported alien abduction to the haunting of the Sterling Opera House, there is a wealth of spooky tales that are known all over the northeast. In this presentation we look at some of the most famous cases from each state, and tell the tales that have entertained generations of New Englanders. Decide for yourself if you ought to sleep with the lights on! This program is presented by Geek Girl, a.k.a. Sarah Hodge-Weatherbe.

Sara Hodge-Weatherbe is the Teen Librarian at the Springfield City Library. She has been touring around New England, lecturing on various aspects of pop culture and cultural storytelling for over 20 years. She's performed for all venues, from The Norman Rockwell Museum to the Massachusetts Library Association. Her favorite cryptid is the Mothman, adores a Kitsune story, and prefers a good cup of Earl Gray tea, hot."

If you enjoy a spine tingling tale, you're going to love this chilling collection of haunted happenings!
