Straw Dog Writers Guild, the Longmeadow Adult Center and Storrs Library are delighted to present "A Writer’s Night."
Guest Speaker Susan Sensemann is an artist and writer who recently moved from Chicago to Easthampton.
She is professor emerita at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she taught contemporary
theory and painting. She has exhibited her work nationally and in galleries in Italy, Germany,
and China among others.In addition to poetry, she writes fiction. Two short stories have appeared in the
Chicago Quarterly Review. “Encountering History” was nominated for a PEN Award for New
Writers. Other journal publications include Whitewalls (collage/text), Design Issues (book
review), Meat for Tea (poetry and visual art) and Silkworm (poetry). Her collaborative projects
and installations incorporate her poetry.
