The Great Give Back: Cards and Letters for VeteransTuesday October 1, 2024

Volunteer and make Cards and Letters for Veterans as part of The Great Give Back, a statewide initiative for Public Libraries to provide service-oriented opportunities to patrons. Patrons can make cards and letters at home throughout the month of October to celebrate the Great Give Back, which is on Saturday, October 19.
Each volunteer can only make 10 cards/letters for this program.
The cards/letters made should be handmade using supplies patrons have at home. Each volunteer should make 10 total cards/letters, one for each of the following seasons/holidays/themes:
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving
- Winter Holidays/Season (ex. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Happy Winter, etc.)
- New Year's Day
- Valentine's Day
- St. Patrick's Day
- Spring Holidays/Season (ex. Easter, Passover, Ramadan, Holi, Happy Spring, etc.)
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Halloween
Cards/letters made at home can be submitted during the month of October. Instructions and requirements for the cards will be available at the Library beginning October 1 to October 31.
Tweens and Teens in Grades 6-12 who submit 10 handmade cards/letters will receive community service credit; they must submit their 10 cards with a volunteer form, which will be available at the Library beginning October 1 until October 31.
All cards will be presented at a special program at the Library for Veteran's Day.
