Smokey the Bear turns 80 and children ages 4 through Fifth Grade can participate in the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge from September 30-October 31.

Help Smokey celebrate his 80th birthday by learning how to prevent wildfires and help the environment. Read 3 books and earn 4 badges to complete the challenge and earn your prize! Start by taking Smokey’s Pledge. Badges are earned by completing at least one activity in each section. Get a stamp for each badge you complete.

Registration is required.  Register online (https://www.gardencitypl.org/calendar/) beginning September 24, 2024 at 10am. You must do a separate registration for each child you wish to particpate in the challenge.
