Age of the Witch Hunts

Monday October 21, 2024
7:00 PM

With Halloween just around the corner this talk will focus on one of humanity’s oldest fears:  witches.  But this time it’s the witches who have a reason to be afraid.  In this program, we’ll discuss how witch-hunts started, why they took off in some areas and not in others, and what it was like to be accused.  These true historical stories will fascinate – and horrify! – you.  Presented by Archaeologist Patty Hamrick.  Register below for the Zoom link.

Presented by The North Shore Programming Consortium which consists of six local libraries (Bayville, Glen Cove, Gold Coast, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay, and Sea Cliff) that have come together to bring our patrons more of a variety in adult programming in a more cost-effective way. This program is hosted by the Bayville Free Library.

Location: Virtually via Zoom
