.Music Through the Ages - Middle Ages and Renaissance to 1600
Music is evolutionary: music in the West today would not be as it is without having evolved from its predecessors over the course of nearly 2,000 years of Western musical history. The medieval period from about 600 - 1100 saw the development of written music which would come to full flower of sophistication in the Renaissance, a period which music historians define as ending in the early 17th Century, around 1600. In October and November please join us as we listen to and learn about the music of this period, the foundation upon which subsequent music has developed.
Rob Humberston provides an educational and pleasant listening environment supported by his long accumulated recording collection and musical experience, including both sacred and secular roots of our Western musical heritage.
